Officer Maverick Saures responded to a report that the pawnshop, located behind 99 Cents Supermarket, was robbed at 7:44 p.m.
Police said an employee was on duty behind the counter when the first suspect, armed with a small bat, walked into the shop and started smashing the glass of one of the display cases.
The suspect reached in and grabbed a handful of jewelry, police said.
The first suspect continued to smash the rest of the glass display cases, grabbing jewelry before walking out of the store, investigation disclosed.
The second male suspect stoo d outside the pawnshop as the “lookout,” police said.
Both men were last seeing walking north toward Lower Miha .
Police searched the immediate area but were unable to locate the two suspects.
Police described the first suspect as about 5’6” to 5’8” tall, large build, wearing a black shirt, and had a white shirt wrapped around his head to cover his face.
The second suspect was about 5’10 to 5’11 inches tall, skinny, wearing hair net, black shirt, and a black handkerchief covering his face.
Department of Public Safety acting spokesman PO 2 Jason Tarkong is calling on members of the public with information about this case to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.
Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
