Today’s program is very significant because the school will have guest performers — the CAB Dance Group, the Lehualani Dancers and Cultural Production Inc., Johnson said.
This year’s theme is “Sharing our Culture Opens a Door of Wonders and Dreams.”
Last Monday was “Hat Day” and students presented traditional headwear such as mwars, straw hats and coconut hats.
The following day, “Accessories Day,” student came to school wearing cultural beads, necklaces, lei’s and bracelets.
Wednesday was “Show and Tell Day” and students made presentations about various cultures.
Yesterday, was “Traditional Costume Day” and most of the students came to school in traditional clothing like the mestisa, the barong and the hanbok.
Johnson said they did not obligate the parents to purchase any cultural products.
He said they just want the students to be creative and use resources that are readily available.
