Garment worker robbed in Garapan

A GARMENT worker was robbed by two unidentified persons outside a convenience store in western Garapan on Wednesday night.

The victim, a 28-year-old woman who works for L&T, lost her wallet containing $21 cash and 10 phone card units, according to the Department of Public Safety yesterday.

DPS spokesman Pete C. Muna said the victim told the police that she was sitting on a bench near the entrance of a store while waiting for a ride home.

Two men walked toward the worker and one of the suspects grabbed her wallet from her left hand.

Shocked, the victim said she went into the store and notified an employee. She was not injured during the robbery.

Last May 18, two men, including one armed with a handgun, robbed Phoenix Market in Susupe.

Last May 2, two garment workers were robbed by three persons shortly after they withdrew their money from City Trust Bank in San Antonio.

Last April 12, two masked men staged a broad daylight robbery at City Trust Bank in Gualo Rai.

These robbery cases remained unsolved.
