Germinaro, who pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, will be under electronic monitoring.
His court-appointed attorney Colin Thompson said his client is a “changed” man.
Assistant U.S. Attorney James Benedetto, who prosecuted the case, reminded the court about Germinaro’s substantial assistance in the investigation.
Both parties told the court that Germinaro, while on pretrial release, took care of his children because their mother was also in custody on “ice” charges.
Coughenour ordered Germinaro to pay a fine of $200 immediately after sentencing.
Germinaro will also perform 100 hours of community service under the direction of the Federal Probation Office and will refrain from entering poker establishments or game rooms.
He is directed to submit to drug tests as well as provide DNA samples, and to undergo substance abuse treatment under the direction of the U.S. Probation Office.
He is prohibited from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapons.
Drug Enforcement Administration special agent Daniel G. Holcomb stated in his affidavit that between Aug. 2008 and July 2009, Germinaro, Julita A. Sablan, and Roque Norita “knowingly and willfully conspired and agreed together” to possess and distribute “ice.”
Germinaro, Sablan, and Norita were arrested last September.
Sablan and Norita have also pleaded guilty and are now awaiting their sentencing.
