Ballet instructor Anna Glushko said this year’s concert will include ballets from “The Nutcracker,” “Les Sylphides,” “Paquita,” and other ballet and jazz concert numbers.
Glushko said the concert is a fundraising event for the much bigger event in December — the 2010 Christmas Ballet performance of “The Nutcracker” and gala-concert.
“The December event will include the participation of international ballet stars from Russia, Japan and Korea,” Glushko said.
It will be held on Dec. 10 and 11, 2010.
In December last year, students of Glushko’s Academy performed with 10 international ballet professionals, including the famous Russian professionals Margarita Rudina and Alexey Nasadovich, for three nights at the Palms Resort Saipan.
The Nasadovich couple, who also performed in the 2008 Glushko’s Academy concert, are ballet principals for the Bratislava Ballet in the Slovak Republic.
Students from the Glushko’s Academy have been performing in local events like the 29th Flame Tree Arts Festival.
The tickets for the May 30 fundraiser concert is only $6 for adults and children and are available at the Glushko Academy for Performing Arts Studio at the Marianas Business Plaza , 2nd floor, or at the door before the event at Palms Resort Hotel. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.
