Governor expected to name new judge

Naraja said Article IV, Section 2 of the CNMI Constitution explicitly states that the trial court should have one presiding judge and at least four associate judges to handle criminal and civil actions brought to the local court.

At least one-full time judge must also be assigned to civil and criminal actions filed on Rota and Tinian.

The three other trial court judges are Kenneth Govendo, Perry Inos and David Wiseman.

Gov. Benigno R. Fitial  and Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan have strongly endorsed Manglona’s nomination to the federal bench.

Once confirmed, she will be the first woman and indigenous-descent person to become a federal judge in the CNMI.
