All of the major tourist sites in the Commonwealth are undergoing renovations, including Banzai Cliff, Suicide Cliff, the Last Command Post, Bird Island, beach areas, the Beach Road pathway, as well as dive spots at Obyan Beach and Laulau Beach, he said during a press briefing on KKMP radio.
He said these “improvements” include “everything from painting to installing concrete tables.”

The work being done now, he added, is in collaboration with different agencies. The goal is to “revamp our tourist sites, so that when our tourists come back, all of the sites [will] be in better shape than [they are] today.”
The governor, at the same time, is asking community members to leave the sites cleaner than when they found them.
“This is our island. We cannot expect anybody else to clean it for us. Let’s please maintain and embrace our environment,” he said, adding that it is not just for the benefit of tourists, but for the CNMI community as well.
