Rosemond B. Santos-Sword
GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios has nominated former Rep. Rosemond B. Santos-Sword to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. board of directors.
A lawyer, Santos-Sword was one of the two pioneering House Republican representatives from Precinct 5 following its creation as a result of redistricting in 2007. She served in the 16th Legislature.
In his appointment letter, the governor told Santos-Sword that he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that she will devote her time and efforts to the best interests of the CNMI people. “Your willingness to serve in this critical board is most appreciated,” the governor said.
In a separate letter to Senate President Dennis James Mendiola, Palacios said he and Apatang are confident that Santos-Sword is qualified and will be an asset on an important board.
If confirmed by the Senate, Santos will represent Saipan on the CUC board for a four-year term.
