GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios has nominated Office of Grants Management-State Clearinghouse grants specialist Bruce M. Camacho to the Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission.

In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that Camacho is highly qualified to fulfill the vital responsibilities of the commission.

In his appointment letter to Camacho, the governor said he and the lt. governor are confident that Camacho will devote his time and efforts to represent the interests of the Commonwealth. His willingness to serve the people is most appreciated, the governor said.

If confirmed, Camacho will serve a four-year term that will expire on April 3, 2028. He will be the third member of CPUC, which has five seats.

Also last week, the House Committees on Judiciary and Governmental Operations, and Public Utilities, Transportation and Communications agreed to endorse the reappointment of retired educator Dr. John “Jack” Angello to the CPUC.

The other member of the commission is its chairman, former Commonwealth Utilities Corp. legal counsel James Sirok.

Nominees to the CPUC must be confirmed by both the House and the Senate.
