GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios on June 6 approved House Local Bill 24-7, appropriating and reappropriating a total of $125,239 in gambling revenues for the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission, the Tinian Mayor’s Office and local programs.

Authored by Rep. Patrick H. San Nicolas, H.L.B. 24-7 is now Tinian Local Law 24-4.

Its funding sources are poker fee collections, Tinian’s share of the electronic gaming license fees, and the leftover funds from the annual exclusive casino license fee that Imperial Pacific International paid the CNMI government more than five years ago.

The local spending measure allocates $84,000 as follows:

1) $41,286 to the Tinian Mayor’s Office personnel, operations, public programs and professional services.

2) $3,000 to the Tinian & Aguiguan Legislative Delegation.

3) $22,714 to the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission.

It also reappropriates $41,239 in electronic gaming fees and casino license fee collections as follows:

1) $39,739 to the Tinian Mayor’s Office.

2) $1,500 to the Tinian Municipal Council.

The funds may not be reprogrammed for any other purpose.
