In a historic move to develop the CNMI’s digital landscape, Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang, and the CNMI Broadband Policy and Development Office have signed a pivotal agreement with Northern Marianas College, NMTech, Island Training Solutions, and the CNMI Department of Labor to launch the Governor’s Broadband Bootcamp, a CNMI workforce development program designed to train local U.S. workers in fiber optic technology through 2025. Aimed at empowering the next generation of fiber optic technicians for the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment or BEAD Program, this initiative ensures that homegrown professionals are at the forefront of the CNMI’s broadband expansion, ready to drive the islands’ future of digital connectivity and economic opportunity.
