He refused to identify them, but said that the party will convene in a general assembly to make a final selection.
Finance Secretary Eloy Inos, the Covenant Party’s chairman, thought about running, but told Variety that the field is already “too crowded.”
Babauta said the party’s candidate must adhere to the Covenant’s goals and objectives.
When asked if he’s interested in the position, Babauta said he is “fine with what I am doing” in the Legislature.
Babauta noted that the prospective candidates from the parties “are strong contenders.”
