Guam businessman presents overview of Chamorro cultural park

Baldyga Group CEO Mark Baldyga, whose company oversees the operations of the park in Gonga (Gun) Beach, gave an overview of the 25-acre site to members of the Rotary Club of Northern Guam during the organization’s weekly meeting at the Hyatt Regency Guam in Tumon on Monday.

The company held a soft opening for a replica of the ancient Chamorro village earlier this year, which happens to be on the same site of a village that existed some 500 years ago. In July, a grand opening was held at the facility’s Beach Bar.

Baldyga is targeting late January or early February 2012 to hold the official grand opening of the Chamorro cultural park.

“The overall park is Lina’la’ and includes the Beach Bar and cultural park; and in the future, will include other attractions and elements as well,” he said. “Phase I is the Beach Bar; Phase II is the Chamorro cultural park; Phase III will be other projects on the rest of the property.”

Baldyga’s other projects include the eco-adventure park, which will be located right behind the village, and the zip line ride, which will go from the back area of the park down toward the Beach Bar.
