Guam company buys Rota Resort

Hee K. Cho, JMSH LLC owner and chief executive officer, yesterday said he was grateful for the support of Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and the Rota legislative delegation.

“The Rota Resort & Country Club Inc. is now the Rota Resort & Country Club LLC,” Cho told Variety.

Within this month, the contract for the acquisition of the hotel will be consummated, Cho said, adding that he has already “infused money” for its operations.

On Guam, Cho owns the Alupang Beach Tower, the Holiday Resort Guam, the Garden Villa Hotel, the Mai’ann Airport Plaza and the Tumon Horizon Condominium.

He is interested in offering casino gaming at the Rota Resort.

Cho said he has already contacted with “casino people” to get some ideas about the  business.

Michinori Matsumura, Rota Resort & Country Club Inc. executive president, said their current workforce will be retained.

Cho  said there will be no disruptions in the services and operations of the hotel.

 “Nothing will discontinue,” he added.

Cho and Matsumura met with Rota legislative delegation chairman Rep. Victor B. Hocog and Sen. Paul A. Manglona on Capital Hill yesterday.
