Guam fitness, food and fun summer camp

Children from 7 to 11 years old still have a chance to participate in the University of Guam’s “Fitness, Food and Fun Summer Camp” that runs from July 25 to 29.

The summer camp, which is part of the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, features nutrition classes that provide important food information, safety tips, physical fitness and field trips.

Participants learn safety tips in the kitchen, and how to cook healthy and nutritious meals.

Several activities are slated such as walking to Pay-Less for grocery shopping, kite flying, beach volleyball, kayaking and more. There will also be a pre- and post-physical test, to gauge how the children did throughout the camp.

The camp will be held at UOG’s Agriculture and Life Sciences building. Lunch will be provided. Registration fee is $75 but can be waived if the family provides proof of eligibility for reduced/free school lunch program, WIC or SNAP.
