GPD spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia confirmed that the student, 21-year-old Jimmy Lomibao, filed the complaint.
Guam International Airport Authority spokeswoman Rolenda Fa’asuamaalie said they are aware of the complaint.
“We have our own internal affairs investigation going on as well. There has been a call made for the employees to come forward with any type of information they may have and may be relevant to our own internal investigation,” she said.
Lomibao was among 27 nursing students from GCC who volunteered for GIAA’s disaster exercise.
He and the other volunteers were instructed to do role play scenarios. As part of the exercise, Lomibao was instructed to get up on three separate occasions to run around on the field and then told to calm down.
However, when he ran out for the third time, an airport police officer went after him, but was unable to get a hold of him. Jayne Flores, GCC spokeswoman, informed the Variety in a previous interview that Lomibao was then pursued by a police vehicle and that three officers brought him to the ground to restrain him.
