On Saturday night, federal officials, including representative from the U.S. Department of Labor, will meet with the guest workers at the Kilili Pavilion in Susupe.
United Workers Movement leaders Rabby Syed and Ronnie Doca said the meeting will discuss the “question and answer” announcement on the umbrella permit recently released by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Participants can ask questions during the meeting, Syed said.
Afterward, Kathy Yuknavage from the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance will discuss ways to maintain clean beaches.
Doca said they will also offer prayers for Federal Labor Ombudsman Pam Brown’s speedy recovery and light candles to show their gratitude to Interior Assistant Secretary Tony Babauta, officials of the Department of Homeland Security and the USCIS for their informative statements regarding the status of the nonresident workers in the CNMI.
