Guest workers want to hold forum with NMI Labor

United Workers Movement leader Rabby Syed and Ronnie Doca said they want to listen to CNMI Labor’s opinions.

“We need to have a good working and healthy relationship with the CNMI government. We need to clarify issues,” Syed told Variety.

On Saturday, they will hold a forum with the federal officials at the Kilili Pavilion in Susupe.

Walter Haite of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and U.S. Department of Labor’s Dean Tenorio, a former CNMI Labor official, already confirmed their attendance, Syed said.

There will be a question and answer portion and nonresident workers are encouraged to participate and prepare their questions.

Syed said they have also invited officials from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and from the Office of Internal Affairs.

Former Rep. Tina Sablan will be the moderator.

Syed is asking nonresident workers to bring candles so they can offer a prayer expressing their gratitude to Interior Assistant Secretary Tony Babauta, Federal Labor Ombudsman Pam Brown, officials of the Department of Homeland Security and the USCIS for their informative statements regarding CNMI labor and employment issues.
