H1N1 vaccine drive continues

Lily Kapileo, Commonwealth Health Center’s event manager, said the low turnout can be attributed to their “effective” H1N1 vaccination campaign.

Most of the students have already been vaccinated, she added.

As of 4:30 p.m., the CHC booth in the Hopwood activity area had administered vaccine shots to five students only.

Kapileo said they would close the booth early since the students were still participating in the other programs of Kick Butts Day.

Yesterday, CHC deployed two nurses, four workers and three volunteers to Hopwood.

Kapileo said they prepared 500 vaccines.

On March 6, Kapileo, who also managed the H1N1 vaccination campaign at the Sabalu Market, said 112 individual were given the shots.

This coming Saturday, she said, they have another scheduled H1N1 vaccination at the American Red Cross office on Airport Road from morning to noon
