HANMI donates $2.5K to Commonwealth Cancer Association

(PR) – The Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands (HANMI) donated $2,500 to the Commonwealth Cancer Association on Friday (Nov. 14) in support of the nonprofit’s ongoing “Mission Possible” fundraising campaign.

The donation was presented at Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan by members of the HANMI Board of Directors to CCA Board President Jocelyn Deleon Guerrero and other CCA representatives.

“HANMI is very appreciative of the work of the Commonwealth Cancer Association in helping survivors of cancer in our community. It’s hard work, and it’s heart work,” said Seo. “This donation is a small ‘thank you’ from both the HANMI association and the many generous sponsors and supporters of our 2025 HANMI Charity Classic Golf Tournament.

“Earlier this year, I lost my mother to cancer,” Seo shared. “So I understand, on a very personal level, the pain that patients go through, and the silent, heavy burden carried by their families. Supporting our survivors isn’t just a community responsibility—it’s something that resonates deeply with me.”

He added that this year’s HANMI Charity Classic was made possible thanks to the heartfelt participation of many sponsors, golfers, and volunteers, all of whom have given back to the community in a meaningful way.

“We hope that this small contribution can help CCA continue its important mission,” Seo said. “And we hope every survivor and every family member feels our support and encouragement. Let us continue to follow the example of CCA and encourage and uplift our survivors and their families.”

Deleon Guerrero thanked Seo and the Board of Directors for the donation.

“This donation from HANMI is going to go toward our ‘Mission Possible’ fundraising campaign,” said Deleon Guerrero. “Our goal is to raise $100,000 by Dec. 31, and we’re past the halfway mark. That’s exciting for us!”
