Hard Rock Café Saipan operations manager Reynaldo Perez saidthis year’s event is a unique because it falls on Oct. 11, or “10-11-11.”
Perez said the Pinktober Fest will include an exclusive series of concerts and will be launched to coincide with worldwide initiatives throughout October to benefit breast cancer research.
Pinktober, Hard Rock’s annual breast cancer awareness campaign, is a philanthropic initiative created to support organizations in the fight against breast cancer through the sales of collectible Pinktober pins, key chains and T-shirts, as well as a series of live music events at Hard Rock establishments around the world.
The local event is in coordination with the Commonwealth Cancer Association and various groups under the theme “The answer is out there, together well find it.”
“We are excited to join Hard Rock for Pinktober,” Perez said.
As someone related to a breast cancer patient, he knows firsthand how important it is to raise awareness regarding the disease.
“This life-threatening disease affects millions of people worldwide, and I am grateful that Hard Rock Café Saipan can join together to get one step closer to eradicating breast cancer in the near future,” Perez said.
Beginning tomorrow, Oct. 4, Hard Rock Saipan will start selling exclusive Pinktober items and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the 12th anniversary limited edition Hard Rock Pinktober pin will be allocated to benefit the fight against breast cancer.
Perez said they are urging local musicians to share their talents during the Pinktober Fest musical shows .
All interested performers are asked to participate in a meeting on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at Hard Rock Café. Look for Perez or call 233-ROCK (7625).
