Healthcare board nominees out this week

Gov. Benigno R. Fitial, who already has the list of seven potential nominees, discussed the matter with the Senate leadership yesterday.

Because the governor has yet to make a final decision, none of the senators were given the names of the potential nominees.

In an interview, Press Secretary Angel A. Demapan said the governor is reviewing the papers of four of the nominees for the healthcare advisory board.

He said the hospital’s director of medical affairs will be one of three ex-officio board members. The second will be the chief executive officer and the third is a non-physician employee of the healthcare corporation.

Demapan could not divulge their names but assured the nominations will be out either today or tomorrow.

Right now, he said the Department of Finance, the Office of Management and Budget and the governor’s office are helping the healthcare corporation sort out business accounts.

All accounts pertaining to medical referrals and Medicare are being separated, Demapan said.
