Hocog to subpoena CUC’s Muna

If Muna will not comply with his request, Hocog said, “I will send a letter [to him] with a subpoena.”

He added, “I don’t want to be drastic, but if that’s what it takes to bring him in, I will do that.”

Hocog, Ind.-Rota, said he has tried to communicate with Muna’s office several times lately but the CUC executive director has yet to reply.

Muna was supposed to submit his proposed rate credit for customers and his written explanation on his interpretation of P.L. 16-2 after his presentation in the House chamber last month, Hocog said.

He will still give Muna “the benefit of the doubt,” but  “if he fails to come, I will order the sergeant-at-arms [of the Legislature] to arrest him.”

Hocog said he may issue the subpoena on Monday next week if the CUC chief fails to communicate with him this week.

Muna earlier presented to some House members his proposal to implement between 30 percent and 50 percent power rate credit.

He also explained that the fuel rate increase being implemented by CUC these days is based on P.L. 16-2.
