THE Superior Court yesterday found probable cause to warrant the filing of cases against two persons charged over two separate homicide incidents.
During separate preliminary hearings, Associate Judge Robert Naraja found probable cause that defendants Chun Shan Yu and Shaun Fitial Iguel may have committed all the charges filed against them.
Naraja ordered Yu to answer the charges of murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Naraja directed Iguel to answer the information charging him with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, and reckless driving.
The court set the arraignment for Yu on April 8. No date yet was set for Iguel’s arraignment.
Chief Public Defender Masood Karimipour represented Yu and Iguel during the proceedings. Assistants Attorney General Aaron Romano and Steve Wadsworth represented the government in the cases against Yu and Iguel respectively.
The court yesterday allowed the release of Iguel upon posting property bond.
Yu allegedly shot dead businessman Kyung Yong Huh apparently over a financial deal at a commercial building in San Antonio last week.
Yu, 41, a restaurant owner, surrendered to the police and allegedly admitted shooting the victim.
On the other hand, Iguel was charged over the death of Xian Ping Zhao, 40, a garment factory worker.
Iguel was the alleged driver of a pick up truck that fatally struck Zhao recently near the Northern Marianas College traffic light.
