Surrounded by all House members, Speaker Eli D. Cabrera, R-Saipan, presented Angelray a specially made copy of H.R. 17-25.
Angelray’s parents, Joseph and Vicky Guerrero and younger brother Joseph Jr., joined him in receiving the resolution.
While under a preventive maintenance and five-year case study in Hawaii Cancer Research Center following a 15-month treatment there, Angelray began his “zeal for giving and helping others.”
He first donated nine wheelchairs to the CNMI-Hawaii Liaison Office in Nov. 2008 while he continued inspiring other patients.
Two years ago, Angelray donated truck loads of toys and books to young patients in Commonwealth Health Center.
Teaming up with then-Hawaii Rep. Glenn Wakai’s Reach Out Pacific and with all-out support from his family, Angelray continued his generosity.
In July 2009, he filled a 40-foot container van with toys, electronic video games and two televisions to CHCs’ pediatric ward. He also donated books and toys to the Public School System and the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library.
Last year, Angelray received a 20-foot container from Hawaii filled with clothes and toys which he donated to the Division of Youth Services and the victim’s advocacy office of the Office of the Attorney General.
He also received donated books and toys from the U.S. Library of Congress through Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan and donated them to DYS and victim’s advocacy office.
In December last year, Angelray donated three boxes of stuffed toys and books to the December Toy Drive organized by Ed Propst.
According to the House resolution, “It would be extremely difficult to find a person with similar compassion and devotion to public generosity like that of Angelray, a young man that had dedicated his life to his family and to the residents of the commonwealth.”
