House recognizes 2 Rota teachers

Vivian Cotas Atalig of Dr. Rita H. Inos Junior/Senior High School and Anna Lee S. Mendiola of Sinapalo Elementary School were  also selected as 2011 Teachers of the Year of their schools.

Rep. Teresita A. Santos, who introduced the resolutions honoring the two teachers, said both have selflessly dedicated years of service to the field of education.

“Because of their tireless dedication to the students, faculty, administration, and parents they’ve been selected as 2011 Teachers of the Year,” said Santos, Ind.-Rota.

Mendiola began her career in education as a community volunteer teacher in San Fernando, Pampanga province, north of Manila, the Philippines.

She attended the Holy Angel University in Angeles City, Pampanga and graduated with a bachelor of science in elementary education in 1994.

Atalig, for her part, is  a bachelor of science in accountancy graduate from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and has taught vocational education, career education, consumer math and computers on Rota.
