The packages of the toys donated by hotel employees indicated the appropriate ages and gender of the kids who should receive them.
Guma Esperansa, or House of Hope, program manager Laurie Ogumoro said they were very grateful to the Hyatt for its continued support.
“Hyatt Regency has been a staunch supporter of our toy drive each year and we are happy to work with them in helping to make Christmas more meaningful for the children,” she added.
She said the recipients of the toys are children staying at the shelter.
“We have been monitoring these kids since January so we can find appropriate gifts for them,” she added.
Ogumoro said they will be calling the parents of the children on their list so they can pick up the toys before Friday.
She said they want the parents to give the toys to their children, who are mostly from low-income families.
Hyatt marketing communications assistant manager Luis Villagomez said they announced the Toys for Tots campaign at the hotel on Dec. 1.
“We are thankful to the wonderful response we received from generous hotel employees who donated the toys,” Villagomez said.
Hyatt Regency Saipan general manager Nick Nishikawa turned over the toys to Ogumoro and Karidat executive director Angie Deleon Guerrero in the hotel lobby yesterday.
Deleon Guerrero said they are very happy for the tremendous help they got from Hyatt and its employees in making children happy.
“Christmas after all is all about and for kids,” she added.
