Hyatt Regency honors outgoing GM

Von Siebenthal had been actively involved in community activities during his stay on Saipan, and leading the organizations that presented certificates of recognition and plaques were the Marianas Visitors Authority, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the 16th House of Representatives, and the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Von Siebenthal, Hyatt’s GM for the past seven years is leaving the CNMI to manage the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Fukuoka, Japan.

He will be exchanging posts with Nick K. Nishikawa, the incoming general manager of Hyatt Regency Saipan.

Nishikawa has been with the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Fukuoka for 12 years.

Von Siebenthal, in the party held at the Hyatt gardens on Friday said that he had considered Saipan as his home for the past years but he is ready to face the challenge of moving to another location.

He said he had been through tough times since he took over the post as GM but the hotel had survived.

The party, attended by government officials, businessmen, stakeholders of the tourism industry and other dignitaries was also to welcome Nishikawa to his new post.

Nikishawa also welcomed the new challenge in taking over as the GM of Hyatt Regency Saipan and asked the community as well as the hotel staff to help him promote Saipan as a prime tourist destination.
