Glushko Academy of Performing Arts dance instructor Anna Glushko said these ballet dancers have not yet performed on Saipan.
“We have invited new performers from Russia and Korea, and a Chinese ballerina who has been here on Saipan for the past months for the Swan Lake performance. This means the audience can watch a new batch of some of the world’s best ballet performers,” Glushko said.
She said 45 students who are taking ballet classes at the Glushko Academy of Performing Arts will be performing with the ballet stars.
“We would like to invite the community to come and support us and enjoy a spectacular holiday performance of Swan Lake, one of the world’s most popular and beautiful ballet classics,” Glushko said.
Swan Lake features the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The Glushko’s Ballet Academy has been holding ballet productions each year since 2002. Each production has been a showcase of talented local and international stars performing excerpts from world famous ballets.
Glushko, a ballerina herself, is the choreographer and designer of the costumes the students wear during the shows.
She said the annual shows allow them to showcase their talents while allowing people to experience a timeless art form.
Tickets for the Swan Lake performances are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12 years old. Proceeds will be used to cover the production costs and other programs of the school.
Tickets can be purchased at all Shell gas station outlets on Saipan, Gourmet Restaurant, Shenanigans in Garapan, 360 Restaurant, Manic Inn in Susupe, and Kevin’s Department Store in Chalan Kanoa.
Glushko said they are very grateful to the sponsors and donors who continue to support them every year.
