Sablan, education officials from GTC and some parents, went to the governor’s office yesterday to witness the signing of an order re-allocating the money for the school’s use.
“It’s Christmas in March for the Public School System. This is wonderful news and I know that parents of GTC are very happy about this. They are looking forward with the plan,” said Sablan after Gov. Benigno R. Fitial signed the order.
“On behalf of GTC students, teachers and parents and the PSS, and the Board of Education, we want to thank you [governor],” she said.
GTC will use the money to repair at least three dilapidated buildings and several classrooms.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the project is scheduled for June.
The construction should be completed ahead of the opening of classes in September.
