Japan disaster to prolong ‘death valley’ period

And now due to the earthquake, tsunami and the nuclear radiation scare in Japan, Lt. Gov. Eloy S. Inos said the “death valley” period will be longer than expected.

He  said the CNMI government must now focus on its other markets like South Korea, China and other Asian countries.

Inos along with Press Secretary Angel A. Demapan went to Japan last week to meet with tour agents there and discuss the challenges facing CNMI tourism.

Obviously, Inos, the recent disasters that hit their nation have affected the travel plans of Japanese.

Although some tour agents have reported new travel reservations, most people in Japan  are trying to see how they can help each other in these times of crisis, Inos said.
