At MHS, they were greeted by their exchange student partners, Japanese teachers and English teachers.
In an interview, MHS principal Craig Garrison said the visit marked the 19th year of their participation in the exchange program with Kitatoshima High School.
The coordinator of the Japanese exchange program, Mihoko Tuttle, said the students from Japan will be here for a week and will leave the island on Oct. 25.
