JOETEN-KIYU Public Library concluded its Summer Reading Program on Friday with an indoor carnival celebration and gift bags for its 94 participants.
The program, with the theme “Color Our World,” was open to participants aged 0–5 and 6–12 years old. Students attended the program from June 17 to 27. According to Sina Ha’ani Palacios, library outreach assistant, the students engaged in various 3D and visual arts projects and crafts, such as do-it-yourself slime, yarn art, painting, and more. They also had the opportunity to visit the Susupe Fire Station and take a lagoon canoe ride with 500 Sails.
Palacios congratulated the students for spending part of their summer “expressing creativity, discovering new creative outlets, and growing your love for your local library.”
Inside the gift bags — courtesy of Lollipops — were bookmarks, toys, activity sheets, stickers, pencils, and more.
Participants later enjoyed indoor carnival attractions set up in the JKPL main library.
Palacios extended her thanks to Pacific Advisory Services, Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, Lollipops, Bank Pacific, Chong’s Corporation, First Lady Wella Palacios, Leslie Bradley, Speaker Ed Villagomez, Rep. Vincent Camacho, Rep. Vincent Aldan, Coca-Cola Beverage Co. (Micronesia), Inc., D&Q Intl.
