The 28th installation of officers was held in the Royal Taga Hall at Saipan World Resort on Feb. 22 following the second multi-district convention, which saw the participation of delegates from the Overseas Masonic Districts of Guam, Okinawa, Tokyo, Seoul, Tuguegarao, Quezon, and Manila.

In his remarks, Subang said it was an honor and the highlight of his Masonic journey to be elected to lead the Emon Masonic Lodge No. 179.

“I will do my best to apply the wise counsel given to me to move the lodge forward by those who have traveled the same path,” he said, adding “as geometry starts with a point and that point expands to a line, we need a point to focus on in order to achieve our common goal.”

Subang said it is his hope that he and his fellow masons will “all use our trowel to cement the stones of brotherly love for the noble and glorious purpose of exhibiting the rules of Masonic etiquette toward one and all within the brethren.”

He urged his colleagues to continue observing the ancient tenets of brotherly love and truth.

Outgoing Worshipful Master Romeo Malasarte said it was his “great joy” and “privilege” to serve the Emon Masonic Lodge No. 179 for two terms as worshipful master.

“I have learned the works, studied the arts, and always gave my time to Freemasonry,” he said. “I am humbled and now that my time has come to an end, I thank those who have helped me implement community projects, including those that benefited schools, and all those who stood by my side every meeting to create better ideas for the benefit of our mother lodge.”

Malasarte said he has no doubt that their Masonic maturity will always continue to be the guide of the master who will govern their lodge.

The program started with the invocation led by Valentin Bolivar and the presentation of the flag by VW Pepe R. Crisostomo.

Miller C. Tanguilan led the salute to the flag and the singing of the lodge hymn.

Canedo then introduced the guest speaker, CNMI Rep. Edwin K. Propst.

The installation of officers was led by Mariano JC P. Pagaddu and Demetrio B. Corsino.
