Bo Palacios of Joeten said the Joeten Charitable Foundation and the company have always valued the close relationship they had with the MMAC.
“We have cancer victims and patients in the family, and we know what it feels to fight against this disease,” Palacios said.
Commonwealth Cancer Association board president Alex Sablan said Joeten has been supporting the MMAC without fail since its inception.
“We appreciate the continued support of Joeten Enterprises to the association for the past 13 years to give hope to cancer victims and survivors,” Sablan said.
The MMAC, which is the CNMI’s largest fundraising activity for cancer programs, will start at 6 p.m. on May 14 until 6 a.m. on May 15.
CCA program manager Tina Sablan told the Variety that everything is already set for this year’s event.
The MMAC aims to raise funds and awareness for everybody who is affected by cancer, an opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors and remember those who have lost the battle against the disease.
She said there are hundreds of cancer victims and survivors on island but only about 60 are actively participating in the MMAC each year. She is urging more survivors and patients to come out.
Last year, the 2009 MMAC fundraising event got 17 sponsors and generated $77,714.40 in revenues.
