According to the Superior Court’s weekly general calendar, Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja will hear arraignments, status conferences and a change of plea.
Family Court Division Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo will conduct a pretrial conference, review hearings, orders to show cause, guardianship hearings, divorce hearings and a change of name hearing.
Associate Judge David A. Wiseman has a preliminary hearing while Associate Judge Perry B. Inos has review hearings and orders to show cause for small claims.
Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona will conduct review hearings and status conferences for traffic cases.
The judges will assisted by their law clerks, but their secretaries and other staffers will not report for work.
Supreme Court clerk and counsel Jennifer Dockter told the Variety that 24 personnel will report for work during the duration of the government shutdown, or almost half of the number of its personnel.
Federally funded personnel and court marshals are also reporting for work.
The office of the clerk of court, the Family Court Division, the Adult Probation Office and the law library are open and will provide services to the community.
Last Friday, the cashier’s office did not receive payments for vehicle registration since the Department of Public Safety’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles was closed.
Payments accepted by the judiciary’s cashier were for cash bail, fines, court fee, probation fee, restitution, child support, police clearance and recording of documents.
