Junk car collection to resume on Guam

In a June 8 letter to Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares and Sinajana Vice Mayor Robert Hoffman, Lai said that in the last meeting, the board voted to give contractor Balli Steel until Friday last week to correct all the deficiencies listed in the notice of violation. A facility inspection by GEPA was scheduled last Saturday.

The program was suspended following the issuance of notice of violations to the contractor Balli Steel.

Lai said that in the event that Balli Steel fails to come into full compliance, the board will request to have the contract deemed null and void and request the governor to declare a state of emergency, “to begin the procurement process for a new qualified vendor.”
