Mrs. Cepeda teaches 2nd grade and has been with Kagman Elementary since 2003. She is currently the Chairperson for the Language Arts Committee and she was also in the forefront of our Accreditation Self-Study last school year as the Chairperson for the Curriculum and Instruction Focus group. In addition, Mrs. Cepeda also served as a grade level representative in the past year during all of our Teacher Learning Community discussions.
She has an excellent classroom management and she is a very organize teacher as described by some of her colleagues. When asked how she felt about becoming the Teacher of the Year, she humbly shared how proud and honored she was to be nominated by her colleagues, but gave a lot of credit to her fellow teachers for their support and hard work throughout all the challenging moments. Mrs. Cepeda also said that although the recognition is very much appreciated her role as a teacher does not end there and that there is still much more work to be done and her goal is to continue teaching and making a difference in each and every student at Kagman Elementary School.
Ms. Tricia Santos is a Chamorro Carolinian Language Heritage Studies instructor at Kagman Elementary School.
She has been with the Public School System since September 2003. Two years of her career as an instructor was at San Vicente Elementary School and five years is spent with Kagman Elementary. She keeps herself busy with school functions, as she is a member of our school leadership team and numerous school committees. She was the chairperson for the CCLHS Home Group during our accreditation self study last year. She is an active volunteer in numerous activities and school functions from coaching students in academic competitions to chaperoning in various after school community events. She is always eager to come and help monitor students before and after school. In addition, Ms. Santos shared that she enjoys what she does as an instructor and she is committed to making a difference in the lives of our youth. She is also committed in ensuring that our youth grow up not losing sight of their heritage.
Kagman Elementary is proud of the accomplishments the school has made this past year in educating the future leaders of the CNMI and attributed all of the success to the hard working and dedicated students, staff, teachers, parents and leaders of their school community.
