The all-Maori reggae band from Hamilton, New Zealand returns after its last concert on island in 2007. Katchafire is set to headline the first “Green is Life Music Festival” to be held at the Leo Palace Resort.
DUB Works and the I-Recycle program have partnered to host the island’s first environmental music festival. The goal of the festival is to promote environmental awareness through the power of music.
The one-day event will feature numerous entertainment, activities, food, a magic show, local vendors and music — all with an emphasis on environmental awareness.
“We have partnered with a number of environmental advocacy organizations,” said I-Recycle Program Administrator Peggy Denney in a press release.
Environmental tips, outreach programs, eco-friendly product display, and local musicians are all part of the program, she added.
Tickets are available for advanced purchase at all Circle K and 76 locations for $30. On the day of the event, tickets will cost $35 at the gate. Gates open at 11 a.m.
