King-Hinds at Interagency Group on Insular Areas meeting

At the recent Interagency Group on Insular Areas meeting, U.S. Congresswoman King-Hinds discussed the need to re-evaluate federal policies that have put a stranglehold on the CNMI’s economy. In her statement, she mentioned IGIA should not just be an “annual meeting to air grievances” — there needs to be more immediate action.

He thanked her for calling for urgent action and for educating her on issues affecting insular communities. She is optimistic that he will stand by his word to help give the CNMI a hand up. His previous work as a governor gives him a unique understanding of what his former colleagues are going through.
