KoES principal Rizalina M. Purugganan said the paving of thier parking area and that of Kagman High School cost $86,000 and was funded by Public Law 16-22.
This law appropriated $367,000 from the Saipan developers infrastructure tax fund collection to finance the implementation of various school, waterline and road improvement projects.
The parking areas for KoES and KagHS were projects oversee by the Department of Public Works in consultation with the school principals.
“We thank the Legislature for appropriating funds to improve our parking area,” Purugganan said.
Rep. Justo S. Quitugua, D-Saipan and one of the main sponsors of the bill that became P.L. 16-22, earlier asked DPW Secretary Diego Songsong to immediately implement the parking lot projects.
The law also appropriated $15,000 for the rehabilitation of the Kagman II baseball field; $10,000 for the improvement and upkeep of the Veterans Cemetery in Marpi; $107,000 for the paving and drainage improvement of the Tangantangan road; $104,000 for the upgrade of waterline in Dandan; and $45,000 for the paving of the coral road project at Northern Marianas College.
