THE Korea Junior Big Band held a free concert for Kagman Elementary School students on Friday.
The event was organized by Saipan-Korean Association’s Culture and Arts Committee led by Jun Ho Park.
According to Park, the visiting group consists of 30 people, including director Lee Su-Jeong and the band members’ parents.
The band members are also attending an English and music camp on Saipan from Jan. 6 to Feb. 5, Park said.
In the past, the Korea Junior Big Band performed in festivals organized by the Marianas Visitors Authority, and the Liberation Day festivities hosted by the Saipan Mayor’s Office.
“These performances are part of the cultural exchange between Korea and Saipan,” Park said.
The band will perform at Saipan Community School on Jan. 27 at 12:30 p.m. and at Marianas High School on Feb. 1 at 3 p.m.
Park invites all island residents to enjoy the performances, which are free of charge.
Among the group’s sponsors are the Saipan Mayor’s Office and Stay Hill Resort.
