Zaji Zajradhara
ATTORNEY Mark Scoggins has informed the Superior Court that Zaji Obatala Zajradhara, in an email, threatened to interfere with Northern Marianas College’s ability to apply for or receive grants.
In his declaration to the court, Scoggins attached a copy of the email Zajradhara sent him.
“This is yet another example of Mr. Zajradhara’s incessant harassment of NMC, the Small Business Development Center, and further supports our request for a permanent injunction,” NMC’s lawyer said.
In the email, Zajradhara told Scoggins, “This is to inform you that win or lose the District Court case, I shall be sending press releases regarding our federal case…said press releases shall include but not be limited to every association, including the White House, that has ever issued a grant award or mention[ed] or about [NMC President] Galvin Deleon Guerrero, [SBDC Network Director] Nadine Guerrero, and NMC.”
NMC has filed a temporary restraining order against Zajradhara for harassing SBDC employees.
NMC also sued Zajradhara for undetermined damages to be proven at trial.
In addition, NMC has asked the court for an eventual permanent injunction restraining Zajradhara from communicating with the SBDC or its employees by any method and for any reason.
Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo granted the TRO and ordered Zajradhara “to immediately cease all communication with the CNMI SBDC and its employees for any reason and by any method….”
Moreover, the judge said, “Zaji Zajradhara shall not come within 500 yards of the CNMi SBDC, its employees, or events sponsored by it.”
The TRO expired on April 18, 2024, and the court has not issued a permanent injunction in the case.
In federal court, Zajradhara has filed a lawsuit against NMC demanding $100 million in damages.
Representing himself, Zajradhara alleges civil rights violations, denial of access to federally funded programs, public humiliation, mental anguish, pain and suffering, false allegations/slander, attempted false arrest, extortionist threats, and retaliation.
