Northern Marianas College President Galvin Deleon Guerrero, EdD, speaks at the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Higher Education Leadership Development Summit, co-hosted by the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management at the University of California, Berkeley on April 2, 2024. The summit brought together college and university staff, faculty, and administrators from across the country to highlight the critical role that Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander serving institutions play in increasing access to higher education and promoting workforce development. The panelists included Pam Eddinger, PhD, president, Bunker Hill Community College; Ajay Nair, PhD, president, Arcadia University; and Santa Ono, PhD, president, University of Michigan. Mark Mitsui, former president of Portland Community College and former deputy assistant secretary for community colleges at the U.S. Department of Education as the event’s moderator.
