The Senate Standing Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations and the House Committee on Judiciary and Governmental Operations will conduct the hearing.
At least five witnesses were called to testify before the panels.
They are: acting Attorney General Gregory Baka, Finance Secretary Eloy S. Inos, CNMI Board of Accountancy Chairman Dave Burger, Saipan Chamber of Commerce president James Arenovski and Nhing Reyes, senior manager at Ernst & Young.
Gov. Benigno R. Fitial nominated Pai after then-Public Auditor Michael Sablan resigned in July.
Pai is a former president of the Rotary Club of Saipan and holds an engineering degree from the University of Hawaii. He is also a U.S. certified public accountant for more than 20 years.
He worked for different corporations and accounting firms before he opened his own accounting firm.
