BEAMS Creatives Inc.’s The Marianas Club reaches millions

(MVA) — The Marianas Club, a project launched by the Marianas Visitors Authority and BEAMS Creative, Inc., which engages in business-to-business transactions that leverage the creativity, sensibility, and expertise cultivated through the operations of Japan’s select shop BEAMS, is working to help Japanese and other travelers rediscover the distinctive tourism features of The Marianas.

Sixteen BEAMs staff and friends visited Saipan and Tinian earlier this year and have shared their experiences extensively to their combined 1.9 million followers on Instagram with nearly 500 reels, stories, and posts, generating over 48,000 “likes” and even 1.1 million views on a single reel, to date. The Marianas Club has also been promoted to subscribers of the weekly BEAM CLUB mail magazine, and the club announcement on X. Additional promotions have been made via Facebook and TikTok.

“BEAMS Creative brings a refreshing and creative energy to how we connect with Japan’s new generation of travelers,” said MVA Managing Director Jamika R. Taijeron. “Through The Marianas Club, they’ve helped reintroduce our islands not just as a destination, but as a lifestyle that celebrates discovery, culture, and authentic island living. This partnership is helping us rebuild awareness in Japan in a way that truly resonates.”

The club launched via a special website (https://www.marianas.jp/themarianasclub_bcr) earlier this year featuring recent visitor experiences and travel information. The project has also created The Marianas Club list on Google Maps (https://maps.app.goo.gl/6xnz4yTPxAhGhp52A), helping to enhance visitors’ experience with a personalized collection of saved places including Marianas businesses, restaurants, historic and scenic sites, and more.

“The Marianas Project with BEAMS Creative is an exciting opportunity to elevate awareness of our destination as not just a place, but a global lifestyle concept that reflects our distinct island features and tourism resources,” said MVA Marketing Manager Thomas Kim. “In line with the MVA’s Marianas Revival Project — aimed at rebuilding ties between Japan and The Marianas — it is a creative way to re-introduce to today’s travelers all the amazing things The Marianas has to offer, including practical travel tips, the latest must-visit spots, personal stories, and up-to-date travel information – all presented with a distinct BEAMS Creative and Marianas voice.”

MVA also leveraged the project to promote the destination at the JATA Tourism Expo 2025 held on Sept. 25-28 in Nagoya, Japan. The tourism trade show is the largest in Japan and one of the largest in the world, where a brochure based on The Marianas Project travel content was distributed to attendees, as well as giveaways. Trade show participation also contributed to a 13% increase in Instagram followers in August on the MVA Japan Instagram account.

Visitors from Japan comprised 7% of all visitors to The Marianas in Fiscal Year 2025, with two consecutive months of increased arrivals from the country in August and September.
