CITADEL Pacific last week received a commendation from U.S. Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds on behalf of the U.S. Congress “in recognition of its 20th anniversary and for fostering economic, environmental, and digital growth in support of local markets and networks in the CNMI.”

Representing Citadel Pacific, IT&E Executive Director Velma Palacios and Government Relations and Community and Customer Service Senior Manager Janice A. Tenorio received the certificate from King-Hinds at her office in Susupe on Dec. 30, 2025. They were joined by other IT&E managers and supervisors. IT&E is owned by Citadel and is one of its key subsidiaries in the telecommunications sector.

The congresswoman described Citadel Pacific as the backbone of the CNMI economy. “You are the ones that generate taxes to allow government to keep Commonwealth Utilities Corp., Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. and the Public School System open,” she said.

“Without you, the government would not be able to operate, and I am incredibly grateful you have committed much of your life to serving this community,” she added.

“It’s been a tough year for everybody in the CNMI,” King-Hinds said, adding that “we are all riding through the same storm and thank you for weathering it with us.”

“Thank you for your commitment, thank you for your service. I wish you much success in your upcoming projects and look forward to the best connectivity. You all deserve a round of applause,” King-Hinds told the Citadel representatives.

Palacios said the commendation is a testament to Citadel Pacific’s success. “It’s because of our people — our managers, supervisors, and staff. Many of our employees have been with the company through thick and thin,” she said.
