CNMI Board of Accountancy to host tax seminar on key federal tax updates

(Press Release) — The CNMI Board of Accountancy will host a Tax Seminar on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Governor Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe, Saipan.

The seminar will feature David J. Burger, CPA, CNMI BOA member, as the resource speaker. He will be joined by fellow board members Skye Hofschneider, CPA and Jocelyn Urbano, CPA, who continue to support the board’s mission of promoting professional standards, education, and public awareness in the accounting profession.

Topics to be discussed include the One Big Beautiful Bill, understanding and completing Form 1040, the new Schedule 1-A, and unfunded federal tax credits being claimed in the CNMI.

The registration fee for the seminar is $20, and participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance distributed electronically after the event.

“This seminar reflects the board’s ongoing commitment to public education and professional development,” the CNMI Board of Accountancy stated. “By providing timely tax information, we aim to help taxpayers and practitioners better navigate current tax requirements and recent changes.”
