CNMI GOP official attends White House dinner (updated)

CNMI GOP National Committeewoman Irene Holl was among about 120 Republican National Committee members invited to the White House on Tuesday evening, where she joined President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance for a Rose Garden dinner.

Holl told Variety that Trump brought the group into the Oval Office, where she briefly spoke with him about the CNMI and the impact of Typhoon Sinlaku.

She said she was grateful for the invitation and noted that former Republican Gov. Ralph DLG Torres encouraged her to attend the event. Holl said she appreciated his support and guidance.

“It was an amazing experience,” Holl said.

Holl also met Vance, who offered a message of support for the Marianas in a video she shared: “You got this, Marianas.”

 

Bryan Manabat was a liberal arts student of Northern Marianas College where he also studied criminal justice. He is the recipient of the NMI Humanities Award as an Outstanding Teacher (Non-Classroom) in 2013, and has worked for the CNMI Motheread/Fatheread Literacy Program as lead facilitator.
