(CUC) — The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation announces that the Fuel Adjustment Charge or FAC remains the same at $0.19706 per kWh for the month of November. Although there has been an increase in fuel costs, which would have raised the rate to $0.21744, CUC will not adjust the FAC in accordance with the Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission FAC Stabilization Order dated March 6, 2025.
The FAC is one of two components that make up the CUC electric charge, which is strictly for fuel and fuel-related purchases. The second component is the CUC base rate, which has not increased since April 2014 and is used to fund personnel, operations, projects, debt services, and other non-fuel-related expenses.
